D’artagnan <3

I just bought my ferret 5 months ago. He was ony two months when I got him and might I add, he is the best little thing I’ve ever purchased! I make as much time possible for him as I have (which is actually quite a lot). Plus, the entire family loves him.

We are moving into a new apartment soon though, which may be a big change for him, although he will be at his grandmas EVERY weekend! ;] He is the most loving little creature. The pet store told me that ferrets don’t cuddle with their owners. I’d have to disagree with that, because mine is a huge cuddler! I don’t know if it’s because I’ve trained him to be that way, or if he just can’t live without me – haha!

He is a serious cuddler though! I honestly cannot understand it when people say they don’t like ferrets. They are crazy, fun, wild, messy, but so loving and affectionate. The moment I laid eyes on D’artagnan, I knew he was the one for me.

I had originally gone into the pet store to buy a turtle. Turtles are my favorite animals. But I ended up walking out of the pet store with a ferret instead. I’m 100% happier this way. Best choice I’ve made in a long time. The last five months have been such a blessing with the little guy. I’m looking forward to the many years to come with him!

We have worried and been somewhat anal about some of the things he gets into, but he’s healthy, happy and so enjoyable to be around. I wouldn’t change a thing about him!!!

Thanks for the awesome information by the way. I feel I know most of this stuff now that I’ve had him awhile. The boyfriend and I actually have it somewhat down. D’artagnan is spoiled!!! I wish all ferrets were as lucky as him!

Oh and p.s. DARN that dang Pet store!!! Whenever I walk in to buy him his monthly supplies, I see the other little baby ferrets…. If I had all the money and time in the world, I’d want them all!

It’s so cool to see how many people love ferrets. I went to the pet shop with my dad today to get crickets to feed our little critters and I saw the ferrets. I can honestly say that it was love at first sight. Me and my best friend have decided that if we can convince my mum to let us keep it at her house, that we will split the cost of the ferret, cage, and first lot of food together. Hopefully it will go well and soon we will have our own little girl to look after. We are planning on an albino named Callileia Draconia. Or Callydray for short. We had to add Draco there somewhere because we love Harry Potter. Anyway hopefully some screenshots I’ve taken if this page will help!

We are also a ferret family. They are the best! I wanted to tell you that you can go to ferret.com and order ferret food and stuff and it HALF of pet store cost 🙂

I am thrilled that you’ve fallen in love with your new friend and that he’s a much loved part of your family now. That’s fabulous to hear 🙂 So many people have preconceived ideas about ferrets and nothing we say will ever shift their view. I say it’s their loss, as they will never know what wonderful pets ferrets make!

So welcome to the club of us who are owned by ferrets – LOL! We are their willing slaves and I think our lives are enriched by having them around us. I know my life certainly is and I hope you’ll find yours will be too 😀
