(Ferret Vets in Alabama … I’m always happy to add sites which have been recommended by other ferret owners so if you have a good ferret vet who is not listed here, please let me know and I’ll put the details on this page … I reckon it’s great to have a list of vets we know are good so that if our ferrets ever get sick, we’ll feel comfortable in the knowledge that our pets will get the best treatment possible from a vet who knows what he’s doing!)

DISCLAIMER: The vets listed have either been recommended, or have advised me personally that they are happy to treat ferrets, or have mentioned that they treat ferrets, exotic pets &/or pocket pets on their website. However I have no firsthand knowledge of how experienced any of the vets are with ferrets.
It is up to you to make sure that you are happy with the treatment your ferret is getting from your vet. If you have any doubts at all, please think about getting a second opinion so that you know that your pet is getting the best possible treatment available.
While I have made every effort to ensure that the information contained on my page is free from error, I don’t warrant the accuracy, adequacy or completeness of this information.
I’m a ferret owner and I’ve been to a few of the vets in the Huntsville, AL area. Dr. Moore at the N. Alabama Cat & Bird Vet Clinic in Hartselle is good. The staff drove me nuts, so I looked elsewhere for my sanity. I tried McCurdy Animal Hospital in Huntsville. I will not ever go back and do not recommend anyone take their ferrets to Dr. Blaine. I can offer details as to why if you are interested. I am taking my fuzzies to see Dr. Ashley at Valley Animal Hospital, and I LOVE her!
Hi Chipper
Thanks so much for letting me know about those vets.
I have removed McCurdy Animal Hospital as I believe you but if you’d like to give me more information, please email me at the address on my contact page!
I’ve said that Valley Animal Hospital was highly recommended but would like to ask if you think that Dr Moore should be recommended as well, since you said he was good 🙂
I think it’s great that ferret people let me know about the vets they like or dislike in their area – so much better than just having a list of clinics from the internet 😀
Hugs to your babies from their new buddies down under 🙂
Cheers

I called Healing Hands and they don’t do ferrets.
Thanks for letting me know, Autumn! I guess they must have changed hands since getting the ferret shelter’s recommendation 🙁
I’ll remove them from the list.
Cheers
~Nona
